Four years after their debut, Samsung is no longer providing monthly updates for the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra.
In the latest update to its Security Updates Work Scope page, Samsung has demoted the Galaxy S21 series from a monthly update schedule to a quarterly schedule. This means that, going forward, the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra will only receive updates four times per year. For now, the Galaxy S21 FE is still getting monthly updates.
This change is typical of Samsung devices, which get less frequent updates as they age.
Samsung is currently supporting the Galaxy S21 series with four years of major OS updates and five years of security updates. While these phones will (likely) be getting One UI 7 when Samsung widely rolls out the Android 15-based update, that will be the last major OS update. Security updates should continue through January or February 2026.

Starting with the Galaxy S24 series last year, Samsung has started supporting its Android flagships with seven years of Android OS and security updates.
