As we previously spotted, Google Keep for Android is rolling out a redesign of the Quick capture widget.

Quick capture’s background now hits “all four edges of the bounds of the grid,” which is part of Google’s Tier 1 widget guidelines.

Previously, only the ‘plus’ button was housed in a rounded square container. This new widget places everything in shapes, starting with a vertical pill for the plus icon. The other four icons are placed in rounded rectangles.

Old vs. new

slotName: ‘div-gpt-ad-outbrain-ad-667964’,
sizes: [300, 250],
slotPosition: ‘mid_article’
} );

The 4×1 configuration has the next text note, list, audio, and drawing shortcuts. You have to go to 5×1 for a new photo note, which some users might not like.

The flower Material You shape is still available, but has been updated to be larger. Google also updated the 3×1 configuration to be larger. There are no updates to the Note collection or Single note widgets today.

This Quick capture widget redesign is rolling out with version 5.25.132.01.90 of Google Keep for Android, but there’s a server-side component. It’s not yet widely available.
