Disney+ is rolling out an update that allows users to remove titles from the “Continue Watching” row, but it’s not available everywhere just yet.
For virtually any streaming service, the “Continue Watching” row is pretty important. It makes it easy to get to the next episode of a show, or resume a movie you hadn’t finished. But it can also quickly get cluttered with shows you didn’t want to finish, or movies you left as soon as the credits started rolling.
That’s why Disney+ is now making it much easier to remove titles from the “Continue Watching” row.
Announced today, an update to the Disney+ app across TVs and mobile devices will allow users to remove titles from that row in one of two ways. You can either long-press the title to remove it directly from the main screen, or visit the details page for that piece of content and an icon will appear to remove it from the list as well.
window.adSlotsConfig = window.adSlotsConfig || [];
adSlotsConfig.push( {
slotID: ‘/1049447/Outbrain’,
slotName: ‘div-gpt-ad-outbrain-ad-666243’,
sizes: [300, 250],
slotPosition: ‘mid_article’
} );
Disney explains that this won’t delete the watch progress, but will simply remove it from the row:
…Within the “Continue Watching” row itself, you’ll need to navigate to the title you want, press and hold the button on your remote to remove, and then select Remove. However, if you are on the title’s Details page, simply navigate to the Remove icon on the right side and select Remove. Rest assured though, your watch progress will not be deleted, even if removed from the “Continue Watching” row.
Disney says this update is rolling out starting today on the web, iOS, and Apple TV apps. “Additional platforms” such as Android and Google TV will gain this functionality “in the coming weeks.”
